It's been 5ish months.
I am officially moved into dad's house and have been since June 26th, the bare minimum (computer, monitors, a few of peripherals) has been set up. I have yet to go harass my ISP a third goddamn time to get out here and finish setting up my fibre connection, as I've been leeching off of my dad's shitty internet service in the meantime (I miss having symmetrical 600mbps speeds so god damn much; 85mb down/15mb up is so fucking painful to sit through, even with an ethernet connection; I can't fucking stream on Twitch with this shit).
Despite being officially moved in, I'm unfortunately not done with this shit yet. I have to finish moving stuff; it's been hot as fuck this week, like 'it feels like it's hotter than 33°C' levels of hot. I also have yet to talk to a realtor, but I'm waiting until after July 4th since that's around the corner. After that, I get to talk to dad about the bills and house deed/title so things don't fucking go sideways in the future in terms of keeping a roof over my head, as literally everything in and around my middle-of-fucking-nowhere retirement town has become expensive and unaffordable on a 40k/year income. Once all of that is done, I get to bulldoze my way through cleaning out the house because nothing's really been properly cleaned since mom died almost a decade ago.
I've gotten a few archival things done since moving in on the 26th, in spite of Linux having beef with both of my scanners. I need to dig up and fix my Windows laptop and get NAPS2 set up on there, among other programs, and rescan the few things I archived because Linux Mint's default/native document scanner washes the absolute fuck out of colours. I'm hoping once I get the Windows laptop set up, to finally finish scanning the last 3 guide books that need to be added to the archive, as they've been debound for several months at this point.
In other news, I've gotten heavily back into Fire Emblem Heroes; to my wallet's detriment. I'm currently chasing down +10ing all Chosen Heroes and Emblems for stat shenanigans, which is A Lot™. I don't want to think about how much money I've spent trying to fully max out my favourite character and all 2 of his alts. I've also decided to make my own Fire Emblem Heroes figures (and merch) because Intelligent Systems is allergic to money apparently and my favourite character will never see any official merch outside of the 2 acrylic stands, 1 keychain and 4 Fire Emblem Cipher cards he has, and like any reasonable and sane person, I'm very upset about this. Unrelated to the merch situation, I've had this fucking song living rent free in my brain thanks to the latest Tempest Trials event. Baldr has become a distant second favourite character in this god forsaken game.
I also finally got my embroidery machine up and running and did a few test sewouts before promptly buying a travel case for it and putting it in storage because I was in the middle of moving. I'm hoping to get it set back up by next month at the earliest because I can't wait to get back to my embroidery shenanigans; I really want to make plushies, man.
I'm hoping to have a few things uploaded later this week for both this personal site and the FFCC Shrine site, so stay tuned.
It's a short-ish and long overdue update, but hopefully next time I have more to say and that my house will have long been sold.
