It's been a week since I bitched about UPS holding my box hostage, but thankfully my shit was promptly ejected from the hellhole that is the Lousiville, Kentucky worldhub at 1am this morning and was delivered within roughly 18 hours.
My box was originally shipped out on September 12th and arrived in stateside on the 16th, finally hitting the Kentucky hub on the 16th or 17th and had been stuck there since. Earlier this week and last Sunday, I had gotten an alert on my tracking that claimed my box was "undeliverable and is being disposed of according to local guidelines". If I'm recalling correctly, my box had been in and out of customs at least twice; I also unfortunately learned that UPS can retroactively change tracking events, so how many times my box actually was in and out of customs I'll never know. Also for reference, I prepaid the tariffs (DDP), so really, none of this should have happened in the first place.
Anyhow, I'm just glad to finally have my books and my moogle card case.
I now need to decide on how I'm going to ship my next proxy box (ECMS or FedEx?). I also need to focus on finishing packing for the move (I am very tired and haven't gotten much done since last weekend, my employer is also making us go back to 9 hour shifts and a 5,30am start time next week in preperation for fiscal quarter end so that's going to be fun), window shop for fabrics again and figure out the logistics of installing a new OS on my PC. I'm still waffling on whether to install a newer version of Windows LTSC or Fedora KDE; as much as I love Linux Mint it's not as up-to-date out-of-the-box as Fedora KDE is and I'd rather not have to spend 30 minutes manually installing the latest kernels via command line again.
